Jeanne Isabelle Cornière

Biography

Jeanne Isabelle Cornière, painter, sculptorBorn in Paris in 1974, Jeanne Isabelle Cornière is a Italian-French painter. She first began with studies of History of Art at the Sorbonne university, that conducted her to Rome (Ecole Française of Rome), London (Warburg Institute) and Florence.
Then she decided to study art painting. She followed for 5 years the painting courses of the
French Académie des peintres in Poissy (Paris). She improved with courses of drawing, clay, sculpture on stone, and engraving at the Ecole-Nationale-Supérieure-des-Beaux-Arts of Paris and at the Scuola Libera del nudo at the Accademia di belle Arti of Florence (3 years).
She moved in Florence in 2001, where she actually lives. During 3 years, she teach painting and directed art laboratories at the
French Institute. She actually teaches plastic arts at the French School in Florence, as well as painting and drawing in her private studio.
Since 2006, a part of her work is inspired particularly to Japanese art in a style that operates a sort of fusion between “zen” traditional painting and modern water-color. Using the big formats as medium, she choose nature (particularly flowers, insects and fishes) as theme of predilection in a bare decorative style.
In parallel of her water-color work, this artist multiplies eclectically supports and techniques (drawing, painting, sculpture) in a constant search of experimentation.
One recent exhibition of her monochromes “interiors and landscapes”, has permitted to show also her interest for photography and the study of the light, like in the school of the North.
Some of her works are in permanent exhibition at the Hotel Basilea in Florence. Other works are on sale in the
Galleria Babele of Florence, at the Galleria La Costarella of S.Gimignano and at the Art Gallery of Montaione (Tuscany).
